BABAO 2024 Research Grants round is open!

  • by

We are pleased to announce that the 2024 BABAO Research Grants application round is open!

BABAO offers grants for research projects in biological anthropology (defined as research relating to humans and non-human primates, extinct and extant) and osteoarchaeology (human and non-human). Two types of grants are available. One type is reserved for research in the contract/commercial sector (up to £2,500: £1000 for research costs and £1500 to buy out time from the employer). The other grant is reserved for the academic sector (£1,000 for research costs only). The application deadline is 1st of May 2024, 23:59 (GMT). All paid up members (before 31st January 2024) are eligible to apply.

Please visit our dedicated webpage for all info about this grant and to download the latest forms and guidance.

Please note that the Decolonising and Diversifying Osteology and Biological Anthropology (DDOBA) Grant scheme is now also open for applications. This grant scheme, which started in 2021, supports the decolonisation of our research, learning and teaching, and diversification of our profession. This grant scheme operates alongside the current research grant scheme. The amount of funding available, application process, forms, general eligibility criteria and deadlines are the same as the research grant scheme. Both academic and commercial applications will be considered.

We look forward to receive your applications!
