Osteologists – People who study the archaeological bones of past peoples – normally work in one of three fields in the UK: Commercial archaeology, Academic archaeology or Museums. This month Professor Mary Lewis of University of Reading will be giving a look behind the scenes at life as an Osteo within the halls of Academia, talking about her own experiences with research and teaching in a free online talk. If you have ever wondered what the deal with archaeological studies of the dead is, this talk is for you! Find out where academic collections come from, what they can tell us, and what a career as an academic osteologist looks like.
