Nominations for the BABAO Mentorship Award are open until September 7th 2025
BABAO has established two awards for members, the Service Award and the Mentorship Award. Requests for nominations are in alternate years, with the award being presented at the BABAO Annual Conference. This year, it’s time to present an award for Mentorship!
The BABAO Trustees will consider applications, but if any Trustee member is nominated that Trustee will not review the nominations for that round.
Nominations are open to all members and awards may be given to any member. This award is presented biennially.
What makes a member worthy of the Mentorship Award?
BABAO presents an award for mentorship to a member who has inspired and helped a person/persons as a mentor. The awardees are recognised for consistently providing support, guidance, and strong direction to undergraduate and graduate students within higher education, and/or having had a significant impact upon the development of the careers of junior colleagues within higher education, museums, commercial archaeology, and other relevant institutions/organisations.
How do I nominate someone?
The nomination should be no longer than 2000 words, and provide a narrative account of the candidate’s mentorship contributions and why they deserve the award.
Nominations for this award should be submitted to our Communications Officer, Ofelia Meza-Escobar at comms@babao.org.uk before midnight on September 7th 2025.
