Nominations open – BABAO Service Award 2026

  • by

Nominations for the BABAO Service Award are open until September 1st 2026

BABAO has established two awards for members, the Service Award and the Mentorship Award. Requests for nominations are in alternate years, with the award being presented at the BABAO Annual Conference.  This year, it’s time to present an award for Service!

Nominations must be made by a member and awards may be given to any member, no matter their status (waged or unwaged).  This award is presented biennially.

The BABAO Trustees will consider applications, but if any Trustee member is nominated that Trustee will not review the nominations for that round.

The winner will be announced at the 27th Annual Conference in Lincoln.

The Service Award recognises the dedication and service of individuals who have demonstrated great commitment to the overall goals of BABAO and contributions made to archaeologists, scientists, researchers, students and community.

The nomination should be no longer than 2000 words, and provide a narrative account of the candidate’s service contributions and why they deserve the award.

Nominators must provide their membership number with the nomination, but don’t need to provide the membership number of the nominee; our Membership Secretary will check eligibility after the nomination is received.

Nominations for this award should be submitted to our Secretary, Lainey Bowen at secretary@babao.org.uk before midnight on September 1st 2026.
