We are delighted to announce the call for nominations for the Holger Schutkowski Award 2026, which celebrates outstanding master’s theses that make significant contributions to the fields of biological anthropology and osteoarchaeology.
We welcome submissions of quality and originality across a wide range of areas, including Biological Anthropology, Primatology, Hominines, Medical Anthropology, Forensic Anthropology, and Bioarchaeology. Submissions can incorporate a wide range of methods, such as genomics, stable isotope analysis, imaging, or macroscopic approaches.
The winner will receive £50, a year’s BABAO membership, and the opportunity to present their research at the BABAO annual meeting. The award will be presented at the BABAO AGM in September 2026.
Eligibility
- AAll BABAO members who serve as university staff in the UK can nominate one dissertation per department.
- Dissertations must have been submitted as part of a master’s course at a UK university within the past academic year.
- Distance learners who receive their grade after the deadline are also eligible (contact me for more information).
