BABAO is saddened to report the passing of Professor Tony Waldron.
Professor Waldron was a noted researcher, teacher, and mentor, with a long and celebrated career across bioarchaeology, forensic anthropology, and osteoarchaeology. His career further spanned medicine and health, including time as a Consultant Physician at UCL. As well as being an author in medicine and paleopathology, Professor Waldron also a consultant for the World Health Organisation, and expert osteologist for a number of human remains excavations.
Our thoughts are with his family and colleagues at this difficult time.
A full obituary, including further details on his career and honours, has been written by Jo Dullaghan of the UCL Institute of Archaeology. You can read it on their website.
